Here you will find information regarding our before/after care program including operational hours, pricing, attendance policy, activities, behavior policy, and contact information. It is important to note that even though Husky Den operates on the premises of Northern Hills it is under the authority of the onsite director and Edmond Public Schools Daycare Facilitator, Marci McVay. Northern Hills Before/After Daycare
Welcome to Husky Den before and after school daycare. Our goal is to provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment while striving to meet the needs of your child.
Hours of Operation
Husky Den runs in conjunction with the Edmond Public Schools academic calendar. We will be closed during all scheduled breaks and when the District closes due to inclement weather.
Hours: 7:15-8:20 am/3:25-5:40pm
- Late pick up will result in a charge of $1.00 per minute.
- After three late pick-ups the Director may dismiss the student from the program.

Fees/Payments/Security Deposit
A security deposit will be collected upon enrollment into the Husky Den. This deposit will equal the amount of the days your child is enrolled in the program. Payment is due on Monday of each week regardless of attendance or if school is closed on a Monday per the EPS academic calendar. Payment must be for the scheduled days given on the enrollment form. Refunds and/or reductions will not be made for absences and/or extracurricular activities. You will be charged for the number of days for which you have enrolled your child. Payments can be made by check, cash, or by paying online – Intouch Online Pay InTouch Online Pay – Edmond Public Schools (bank fees do apply.) A fee of $25.00 will be charged for any returned check. Payments must be made in advance or on the Monday of the current week. Payments may be made at the beginning of the month for the entire month or paid in two week increments or weekly on Mondays. Any payment received after Tuesday AM will have an added $5.00 late fee per day per child. Nonpayment in excess of a week without prior notification to the Director will result in the loss of your child’s spot in the program.
Days of Attendance
Parents will need to indicate the specific days your child will be attending and the time (am, pm, or both.) This will help us insure the safety and well-being of each child placed in our care. If you need to change days and/or times you must notify the Director a week in advance to insure availability. If your child will be absent from Husky Den please notify the office and/or the Director.
Drop Off/Pick Up
Parents will utilize the west end of the front parking lot for drop off and pick up. You will need to press the buzzer located next to the east door to notify staff you are there for drop off or pick up. Children need to be picked up by 5:40 PM After 5:40 PM, $1.00 per minute will be charged to the student’s account. After three late pick ups the Director may dismiss the student from the program. Parents will need to enter the school building to drop off or pick up your child. Parents will come to the daycare door with appropriate identification for pick-up.
Snacks
An afternoon snack will be offered to the children each day. Please indicate on the enrollment form of any food allergies your child may have.
Activities
Morning activities include: games, puzzles, blocks, coloring, and other enrichment activities. A study area will be available for students who may need extra time for homework or studying.
Afternoon activities include: snack time, recreational activities and rotations. Rotations will include – outdoor activities, computer lab, arts and crafts, and other indoor activities. Husky Den will offer time for students to complete homework after their outside rotation. Children will be grouped by age and all materials used will be age appropriate.
Emergency
In case of an emergency after 4:00, we can be reached at 405-830-9027. Husky Den will follow Edmond Public School guidelines for all emergency situations including – fire, tornado, intruder, and lockdown.
Behavior
Husky Den has the right to refuse service to a child who is unable to cooperate with staff and/or other students or who is destructive to property. For the child who consistently exhibits behavior problems we will:
- Notify parents – phone call or by written notification.
- If the behavior continues, the parent will pick up the child from daycare immediately.
- If the behavior is a continual problem, the Director will dismiss the child from the program.
Withdrawal
It is required for parents to give a two week notice of withdrawal for the security deposit to be applied to the child’s daycare account. If a two week notice is not given the security deposit will be forfeited. Once you withdraw your child from the program you can only be readmitted based on space available in the program.
